Today my big brother officially received his PhD in something about computers and programming. Jay is one of those super smart people who can program in multiple languages, including the really old ones, but I really have no clue what he does. He tried to explain it to me once but my brain couldn’t process what he was saying.
When we were younger, I idolized Jay, not fully comprehending the complexities of following in the footsteps of a genius. Over the years, it has created tension between us but it is healthy tension. If Jay and I weren’t arguing over something, I think our family would be worried. They won’t admit it, but they would. Besides, we get along in our own special sibling way.
Jay, I am proud of you. Congratulations, Dr. Smarty Pants!
I finished the quilt! Today it will go where it belongs. I have my fingers crossed they will appreciate the quirkiness that ended up in the quilt.
Work on the second quilt hasn’t official begun, but I have mentally logged some tricks and shortcuts that should make it less of a challenge. I may handstitch a bit more on the next one, but the machine will always be my friend.
